Almost a day with Jan Baan

Hi All,

Today, me and Velshankar along with Frans Clements, Jan Hasselman, Henk Duinkerke had lunch with our chairman and CEO, Jan Baan. Its very rare and great to have a talk with busy man like him. He also asked us some questions like "How is Netherlands?, Do you like Netherlands, Are you feeling comfortable in the castle?, Is the room service is good? and some more questions regarding the project progress". I asked some questions like "How old the castle was?, When temperature will get better?" and few more. Do you guys know?, the castle was 350 years old, but for me it was looking like build some one or two months back. Baan's family was maintain the castle with great care.

Also tonight, we were invited for the classical music function and for information reagarding the function name, you can have a look at the above image. In the function, it was like some group of persons will sing some classical and religious songs for two hours. I loved the way they sang and the rhythm of the songs and two hours passed very soon. Also got to know from Hans Don that Baan's family love classical musics and used to arrange classical music function twice a year in castle "De Vanenburg". Also during function also had a talk with Jan Baan and Paul Baan(Jan Baan's son), also with some very big giants of Cordys.

Tomorrow, we planed for weekend outing to Zotermeer(a town in Netherlands which is some hundred odd kilometers from our castle) will share the weekend outing in my next blog. Also Hans Don invited us to his home for dinner on upcoming Tuesday, hope we will available on Tuesday evening for going to his house and spend some time over there.

Thanks,
Ramesh Kumar Gurusamy.

My First Air Travel Part-4

Hi All,

This blog also will continue my first air travel experience, Velshankar and I reached the boarding lounge around 1:45AM which was too early for a 4:10AM departure flight. We were sitting idle for a while then I took my laptop and searched for Wi-Fi network, so that I can surf internet for a while. Inside Hyderabad airport we had the free Wi-Fi access and I also informed Velshankar about it. Then he too started surfing internet.

Around 3:30AM, I heard a announcement coming from Fly Emirates counter that we can enter into the flight(EK 525). This time my seat and Velshankar seat were not next to each other. There was a three rows gap between us, mine was 21F and 24H for him. As expected, the flight started ten minutes late due to some technical problem and once I seated on my seat I felt it was too cool. So asked air houstress that I need blanket and then after a while had an hour sleep, Since air houstress woke me for having breakfast.

After having breakfast had another hour sleep and we reached Dubai around 7:55AM IST. We had only an hour and fifteen minutes to find our departure gate for our flight(EK 147) , and the gate number was 140. We walked almost a kilometer to find the gate and got the boarding pass. From the time we got our boarding pass, the boarding counter closed in another five minutes and we thought thank God! we reached on time.

To be continued..

Thanks,
Ramesh Kumar Gurusamy.

My First Air Travel Part-3

Hi All,

This blog is a continuation of my previous blog, we reached the Fly Emirates counter around 12:50AM and we were waiting in front of the counter. Around 1AM the Fly Emirates officials opened the counter and we were in queue for getting the boarding pass. Since we reached the counter three hours prior to the flight departure, there was no rush in the counter and got the boarding pass without any huddles. But they gave Immigration Form and asked to fill the required details.

As expected, when we were filling any new kind of form we would come across lots of doubts even though we know what to be filled in for that question. So Velshankar and I clarified our doubts form one Fly Emirates official and completed filling the form and we went to the Indian Immigration Bureau counter for immigration clearance. There also no rush since we were in advance for the immigration check. Before us there was an poor man who was not educated and he was not able to answer the questions that were asked from his passport details. So he was rejected in the immigration check. So I had little fear, after seeing that incident.

I was called for immigration check before Velshankar, the official asked many questions to me. His questions and my answers as follows,

1. Why you are go to The Netherlands?
I told, I am having a business meeting with Hans Don(I was already prepared for this question, since Magesh told that they will surely ask to the first time traveler). Also shown my invitation later that was given by Vanenburg Software BV(NL Office).

2. Which company your belong to and where it is located?
Vanenburg Software located in Coimbatore.

3. You are from Tamil Nadu, you can go to Amsterdam via Chennai and why you are here?
I explained the story of relation between Cordys and Vanenburg.

4. When you are coming back to India?
I told, will return in three weeks.

Then he stamped my Visa and I was cleared the immigration check. Velshankar called for immigration check after me but he was cleared that before me and he was waiting for me in near the security lounge.

To be continued..

Thanks,
Ramesh Kumar Gurusamy.

My First Air Travel Part-2

Hi All,

This blog is continuation of my previous blog, the airport officials told us there were spicy powders. Which were not allowed to carry in cabin bags. Then we spent some time in watching India Vs England world cup match in the boarding place and then we were called for entering the flight around 7:10PM. Initially I thought the flight would be empty and only few persons will travel. But to my surprise that's not the case, the each and every seat in the flight were occupied.

As expected flight departure was delayed by fifteen minutes, and the flight leave Coimbatore airport at 7:55PM. During flight take off and landing, I felt like butterflies flying in stomach which was similar to Giant Wheel ride. Around 9:15PM, we reached Hyderabad airport and we went to B3(Belt 3) and collected our baggages and searched for international departure gate. After some thirty minutes we found the international departure gate, but the security told us that once we entered inside the gate we can't come out of it again. So we thought flight is at 4:10PM only so we can have dinner and can spent sometime in food court.

When we reached food court, in television India Vs England match was broad casted so we thought we can spent some time by watching the match. The match was very interesting which was ended in a tie. In the food court all the items were too costly and also we didn't have enough India currency to buy. Thank God! I had Sodexo meal pass :) which was accepted in that food court after having, we again went to international departure gate around 12:40AM.

To be continued..

Thanks,
Ramesh Kumar Gurusamy.

My view about small scale business... Part 3

New Startup
New startup’s has lot of practical complexity in it.  Before going to live we have to conduct many researches on in. Research is used to identify potential markets, Needs of customer, pricing of the products and competitor’s business model. Research is not a onetime process, it is a periodic one. In the new startup we should know about the customer category which we are targeting. New startup is very complex process compared to other types.
