Update on Pricing App - 20 May 2011

Hi All,

The Pricing App was given for acceptance testing and the customer representative Marc came up with around twelve enhancement on top of the current solution. But Frans and Henk told us that we shouldn't start implementing those enhancements straight a way, since customer have to pay for those enhancements. So negotiation is going between customer and us, to implement those enhancements it will take another fifteen days as we have estimated. Hope customer will pay for those enhancements. Also the next project Sales Quote was under negotiation as well, hope will get that project and more projects from Getronics.

My college life part 2 (Rejoice)

                 From the third semester I enjoyed my college days. There was no boring time on those days. Week days I have spend with college friends up to the 7 PM, then watching TV and sleeping. In my home there were no restrictions for me. I can go anywhere at any time. One incident I have to mention here is one day I planned to go theater with my friends in my home town without informing to my parents. At 6 PM my friends came to my home to pink me to theater. Somehow I managed 100 Rupees for the ticket and food.  I informed my father like I am going out with my friends so don’t search me. He said that, “No Problem. Take 100 from my pocket for expense and in theater there you can’t find any good food. So take some food in home”. I smiled and went away.

                 These kinds of incidents happened in my life many times. Most of the time I hide things for my parents may feel. Till now I don’t know why my parents having this much of confidence on me. During the third semester we formed the group, not to fight with othersJ. We occupied last bench. I had the good relation with my class mate. Mostly class decision was taken by last bench.

My College Life - joyed

              In the previous posts I have shared about my first semester of college life. Now I am going to start from the second semester.  2^nd Semester is a short term semester among the eight. In the second semester they split the entire first semester classes and formed the class based on the student’s specialization. So we got new people interaction. There were no interesting events like in the previous semester. Also I didn’t get any good friends immediately.

               In the academic side also very bored life.  Other than Mechanics hours I hate to sit inside the class. I used to stand outside in the physics class, because professor keeps on asking the assignment every week. I hate to write assignment in every week end. In between the first semester result came I cleared all the papers and got good marks. A few of my friends got arrear papers. I was happy about the result of mine.

Integrating MS - Access database with CPF

Hi All,

Currently I was exploring on how to read data from MS - Access database and pushing to CPF without using Cordys platform, I am glad that it was possible using Java and this code should run as standalone desktop application to read data from the MS - Access database. Now have to create a UI for that desktop application similar to CPF Data Fetcher. Also proposed the solution to Dheva(owner for all Cordys applications), he told that was good approach. Since previously, in LMS system there were many steps to read data from MS - Access database to Cordys like create a file and giving that as input to Cordys and manipulating that file in Cordys layer. But now its straightforward approach by querying the MS - Access database directly whenever needed. Hope this creating this type of standalone application for our future customer also.

Work status

                    Currently I don’t have any specific work in the team. I am just exploring the new thing like Ruby script and web servers. Some time feeling bore. Having too much of work and too less work is not good. So have to get correct combination of work in upcoming days.
                    Last Friday I tried to post one blog of my college life but at that time blogger.com server was down. So I will continue it in upcoming days

MBA exams…

                 Yippee.  Semester exams got over. It was very boring due to the summer season and the theory syllabus.   Currently I feel relax. This time I can’t concentrate on study, I don’t know why. All the questions are in the general manner. So it didn’t make any problem.

                Usually we start from home at 11.30AM, we reach venue at 1PM.  In the exam hall I felt very sleepy due to the long travel and due to the summer season. This time we don’t have mathematical papers in the curriculum. All are theory papers. Also we had the one paper called Computer application in HRM. That covers all the MS office applications and the data base. It is easy to write the stories without reading the books.

                 Sad message is we (HRM) had only one paper like this, but MBA General is having three papers like this. Cordys and VG conducted shuttle tournament among the employees through four teams. I missed it due to the exams. Upcoming week I have the match. Hope it will be good.
