Visit to Vlastuin

Hi All,

Last Friday, Velshankar and I went to our customer site Vlastuin along with Frans Clements. It was a great experience to be there and knowing about the type of business they were doing. Let me give some brief introduction about Vlastuin, Vlastuin was a manufacturing company. They were manufacturing products that are need for logistics company. Ex, products like trailers, elevator parts, containers, etc.

Mr. Jan Van Velthuizen(Marketing Manager) of Vlastuin took us for the site tour and he clarified our doubts regarding their manufacturing process with a smile on his face, you can see him in the below image. His colleague demonstrated the application that they developed using Microsoft Visual Basic and .Net and that they were using for many years, hope we will replace that with our application along with more flexible solution in the future :). As of now they were using only our CRM on Demand application.

Also Velthuizen, give some statistical details about their organization and during winter they used to make less products compared to other seasons. I also asked some questions like Do you people start developing application on your own in the future? He replied with smile that NO NO, we want you guys to do that for us. I asked some more questions to him regarding the future projects, we may get from them. It was nice to hear from them that they were happy with our application.

My College Life -- Part 6 Love

                          I try to calm my class boys regarding this matter. But I can’t stop them. Then I left this matter. One day Mathematics professor asked one question to her, she stand for answering question.  I saw her at that time, this is what we will behave if any one of our classmate stands in class. At that time everyone turned towards me and laughed without lessoning the class. After a few seconds only I noticed them. I too laughed and I asked what wrong with you guys. They replied, Continue Srithar. We will help for you love. I couldn’t say anything to them.

                          In the same day one of my classmates came to me. Still that time, I never spoke with him very closely. He spoke with me very jovially and shared personal matter about him. I couldn’t understand that time, why he shared that much of his personal information with me.

                          After that he used to come to last bench in the free hour. One day he asked me, do you love her? I replied, I can’t understand. What you are talking about?

Friend:  Everyone is telling like you love her very seriously?

I           :   No da machi. They are kidding me

Friend:    Say truth Srithar.

I           :  Are you mad? I never had a thought like this.

Friend:  Oh ok fine.

I           : Why you are showing this much interest in this matter.

Friend: because I am in love with her.

(I couldn’t stop laughing)

I           : That is why you are questioned me like this ah?

 Friend: Yes.

I            : Congratulations da machi.All the best. 

                         He thanked me and we finished the conversation. After that only my friends let me know 2 other in my class also following her.

My College Life -- Part 5 English Assignment

At last he came to last bench.  We three guys Hari, Kannan and I stand as innocent boys.

Prof :           Hari what is the problem for you.

Hari :           I went to my cousin house for function. So I can’t complete the assignment. I will complete this by tomorrow.

Prof:            Stupid. Don’t tell stupid reason. Go Out…

              
                   Hari left the place with smiling face.  He signaled towards us like, will meet in corridor. Kannan and I smiled of funny signal. These incidents pour oil in the fire. Professor got over angry with Kannan and me and started scolding us.

Prof:           what is problem for you guys? Can you show me your assignments?

I :                I kept my assignments in my home

Prof:           Then you are here. Get Last. Get out from my class. How many times you have completed?

I :               1 times sir.

Prof :          Please don’t stand in front of me. Out

Kannan :    Why you treating us like a school children.

Prof :         You stupid. Without doing anything, you are questioning me?

Kannan :    If you gave one or two times we can write? 25 times how come we can write?

Prof :  Get out now.. I will see you later.

                      That time we went out. We stand in the corridor. A few girls also joined with us with as usual sentiment crying. We laughed at them. One girl named xxxxxxx. That is the first time I saw her in close and I said to my friends, she is beautiful when she is crying. After that I changed the topic. But my friends spread this to full class. After the interval time I entered to class. All boys are started shouting like; hey she is very beautiful while she is crying. OMG… I never expected this.  I can’t say anything at that time.

Update on Pricing App - March 17

Hi All,

As all of you knew that Velshankar and I was working on Pricing App for Getronics customer. Yesterday, our customer contact person Marc Florie visited our Putten office to know about the application development progress. We also shown him demo of the application that we have developed and he was very much impressed about the way it was implemented. Also he listed few more new requirement that his company needs, then we discussed about those and we have proposed the solutions for it and he was very happy. During the discussion also discussed about how this application will be integrated with our Sales Configurator application. Today Morning, Marc called Frans Clements(Vanenburg Software BV) over the phone and conveyed his satisfaction on the application and also talked regarding the Sales Configurator. So I think we will get the Sales Configurator application project in the next quarter :).

Philips Update

        I am working in the Philips Cerify application. Finally we got some idea in the application requirement. We are working with that. Today we planned to show demo to Richards who is in charge of this project from the customer side . But he is busy with some other work. so we postponed meeting to Monday.Nowadays this project development is very interesting . Mostly we covered the application requirement as per our understanding. Validation in one main  form is still bending.

Roaming in Putten Part-3

Hi All,

In this blog also I wish to share the experience that I had while roaming in Putten. We were discussing for a while to decide which restaurant to go and finally we entered into a Chinese restaurant. We all thought that we can have some noodles or fried rice, which maybe taste like an our Indian food. We ordered for two bottles of beer, a glass of coke and two plates of chicken fried rice. You maybe wondering, why we ordered only two plates of chicken fried rice even though we are four. Actually Srikanth told us that in this restaurant, the quantity will be more compared to that we get in our country for each plate of chicken fried rice. You may also wondering how Srikanth knew that, in fact this is his eleventh visit to The Netherlands.

Since we all where hungry we ordered for another plate of chicken fried rice and also a glass of water, we need to order water also if we need. You maybe in for a daze if you know the price for a glass of water as we were in for a daze, its fifty cents that means in Indian rupee, its thirty two!!! if you order for an mineral water. But tap water was free of cost but we came to know about that details after ordering only. In the below you can see the image that I took from that Chinese restaurant.

Can you guess how much it would have charged us for having three plates of chicken fried rice, two bottle of beer, a glass of coke and off course a glass of water? Again we where in for a daze, the price was thirty two euros and its almost two thousand rupees for just few items :(. But in our country, I would have used that money for a entire month for all my food expenses. But it happens what to do, we have to learn from it and around 3PM we came out of the restaurant and we reached our castle around 4PM.

My College Life -- Part 5 English Assignment

Monday I returned to college. First hour was English. Everyone was busy with assignment writing. I asked some of my friends regarding the assignment count which they have completed. Everyone told the double digit number but they haven’t completed 25 times.  After few seconds my bench mates also joined with me. One of my friends Hari who sat next to me wrote 2 times. Suresh wrote 1 time. Kannan and I were the exceptional case. Even we were not touched the assignment. English Professor came to class sharply at 9AM. We stand and said Good Morning.  

Prof:  Good Morning Guys. Who are all completed the assignments? Those can please take seat.


(Mostly all the girls finished, 2 guys joined with them.)

Prof: Ok tell me guys, what is reason.

(Everyone stand as it is without answering professor’s question. One guy replied, I have completed 23 times sir.)

Prof: Ok who are all completed more than 20times also sit. I will give one more day for you guys. You have to submit assignments before 9AM.

(They were happy and sat in the bench. Some guys asked the excuses to professor for one more day)

Prof : Ok. I will give one more day for you guys, those who are not completed at least 5 times. You can’t complete tomorrow. So who are all not completed at least 5? Stand here other take can take seat.

(A few students only stand in that time. Professor came to individual place asked us the reason)

My Current Application

Hope you all know that I am working on Philips- Certify Application for the past one month.After having many discussions and many modification in the applications .Last week we concluded to start building the application.There were many new concepts and new terminologies in the requirement document what they have sent to us.It was tough for Srithar and me to go through the complete requirement .Some how we managed with Siva to make a guess over the requirements.Finally we started building the application this Monday.
Not only Development ,even Testing will be a big task for testers.Nizar was writting test cases for the past three weeks and many reviews were done.But still we have lot of doubts in the basic logics while building the business process.We are striving to complete the development of this application as soon as possible.We are developing the application for the past two days but still we haven't completed the application.Hope by the end of the day we will complete the application.We have planned for a demo tommorrow.If everything goes fine in demo,we can finish this application within this week with complete functionality.

Roaming in Putten Part-2

Hi All,

This blog will continue, the experience that I had while roaming in Putten. We all first entered into an electronic shop, but we didn't have definite plans to buy anything over there. Since in Netherlands, electronic items price was too costly when we compare with our country but there where few exceptions like Cameras and Televisions. So we didn't buy anything in that shop and then Kondal Rao and Srikanth started to shop separately them, but I had the company of Murali.

Murali kept on asking me that, brother I want to buy two bottle of wine for my friends in India. I too wanted to buy three bottle of wine for my friends, even though I had already brought a bottle of wine in Zotermeer. So we started to search for the shop nearby and found a shop. We were able to get good quality of wine for cheap and we both were about to buy that time Srikanth came and told us that we have to bag that bottle in such a way that it can't be broken when our travel bags we placed in the baggages. Immediately, Murali went and asked the shopkeeper but they told NO they won't bag wine bottles.

Srikanth also told us that we can buy bottle of wine in Amsterdam airport and there bagging will be free, he also added that it will be costlier in the airport compared to that we get in the street shops. Hope will buy three bottle of wine this weekend since we have already planned for a trip to Amsterdam. Then we brought some chocolates in that shop and came out around 2PM. We were hungry since we didn't have breakfast so we decided to have lunch in the nearby restaurant.

My College Life -- Part 4 English Assignment

                                In my first semester, I studied well due to fear of semester exam system.   As I said earlier, that time I was good at Engineering Drawing and Mathematics. I used to top in my class. My performance in other subjects was average.  Other than academic activities, I got many friends. So class went very well.

                                My biggest problem was English. I never passed in my internal exams. It was not only for me it was for whole college. English department used to give less mark for the exams. In my class usually 2 to 4 students were passed in the English paper. 

                               One day English professor asked us to submit assignment the next day. No one submitted the assignment the next day. Problem was professor’s voice was not audible to most of the students, when he asked us to do assignment.  But it was audible for last bench students because that time he stands nearby last bench.He got angry with us. For punishment he asked to us to write same assignment for 25 times by next Monday. OMG.  I decided to face any problem for not doing that assignment. I think that was one festival period. So I enjoyed weekend very well.  Monday I returned  to college.

Castle Dinner Menu

Hi All,

In this blog I wish to hint you the food items that you can get in our castle for dinner. Once you settle in your dining table, a servant will come to you and ask you, Do you need any drink? Drink can be wine, fruit juice(apple, orange, strawberry, kiwi, lemon), coke, water, beer, rum, whiskey, brandy and some other soft drinks as you wish. You maybe wondering, how do I know the list of drinks available in our castle. Since on first day when a servant asked me, Do you need any drink? I asked him what do you mean by drink? Then he explained me this list.

I was having apple juice or orange juice till yesterday, since today I drank red wine with company of Murali and Kondal Rao. If you didn't believe, you can glass of find red wine in the above image. Then after twenty odd minutes they will serve you the food and it will be Indian food. But that won't make you like this :), because from my personal experience its better to have their food(bread, rusk, oats, corn flakes, etc) instead of asking them to prepare Indian food :(. Since they were buy ready made Indian food from some store or hotel and they were serving it. They used to serve three gravies(two vegetable and a non-veg) and all three won't have spiciness as you like to be for an Indian food. Hope this information will be helpful for you in near future.

Last Saturday....

Last Saturday, I got up at 5 am .I was not feeling sleepy so I thought of get started to home.After preparing myself for the journey ,I just gave a glance over my watch.The time was around 5.30 am .I rushed to bus stop.I saw many waiting for the bus even at 5.30 am.Usually I will get up at 6 or 6.30 am so I thought that there are even people who start to go for their work even at this time.I dont know the train time so I was not confident whether I will get train or not.Luckily when I reached the station ,I found Intercity express standing at second platform.
I was happy because after many days I am going in this Intercity Express.I don't know how many of them are aware about this Express.This is one of the fastest running in Tamilnadu.I have traveled in many express but I feel this is the best one to travel.
I reached home at 8 am.As soon as I reached current was put off.I thought of using Desktop but it had a problem with hard disk so I dropped my plan.After that I had a sleep till two in afternoon. After that I went to computer service shop to analyze the problem.
Hope you are all get annoyed and may fell that you have wasted few minutes by reading this post.But please think of me. All my Saturdays goes like this :( ...........

Veerasamy"Rocks"

Now a days we all are spending most of our time in social networks to have contact with our friends. In the social networks we are also sharing the videos.The most popular videos in social networks are T.Rajendran videos. I am sure that every one will watch the TR videos in FB screen.Who is Tr he is one of the famous tamil director in early 90's.Most of his films are silver jubilee.He is a man with lot of talents.For his film he itself wrote dialogues,Story,Screenplay,etc.He introduced many heroines in to tamil film industry.In recent times he is not taking any film but the last film directed by him was "Veerasamy". The hero of this film is TR.On Sunday in Ktv they telecast the film.I saw this film .Suddenly my room mates also joined with me and we all together seen the movie without changing the channel. In songs he dance like Michael Jackson.At last the climax of the film came the enemies attacked Tr sister with Knife on his neck. Tr has one weapon in his hand but the enemies are more than 25.The gang leader warns the TR to drop the weapon and surrender to him.But Tr takes one decision this is the highlight of the film.Suddenly he removes his "Vasti" and throw it on the face of Gang leader and killed all the enemies and saved his sister.TR rocks......

My College Life -- Part 3 Unforgettable incident

                         In my educational life I used to hate to write records. In my schooling a few friends helped me to write records that mean they wrote 80% and my contribution was 20%.   In my first semester i had four practical papers, so we had to write 4 record notes and 4 observation note books. Daily I used to write records for long time. 


                         I liked only two subjects in first semester, those are Engineering drawing and Mathematics. I used to score high marks. To get the signature in the records we have to show the observation note books after that only professor put their signature in the record note book. But chemistry professor put signature for me without chemistry observation but usually he used to say to show observation note books at last . One day he asked me to show the observation note book. At that time my observation note book was blank. So I started writing the observation note book, in one week I wrote 6 experiments out of 12 without the diagram. I informed chemistry professor about the status. He said, Ok fine. 


                           Next day I searched my chemistry observation to complete the next set. I loosed my chemistry observation note book.I felt sad, so i planned to escape from writing the observation note book. After two days I found one notebook in my desk, which was my old observation. I was happy at that time. While I open my observation I couldn't believe  , all the experiments were written and all the diagrams were drawn . I asked my class friends regarding observation. Everyone started making fun of me.  I searched the person who wrote observation for me by using the hand writing. But I never succeeded in that. Still now I am keeping my chemistry observation separately. 


That is the one incident I can’t forget.

Roaming in Putten

Hi All,

This weekend, I along with Cordys-CoE colleagues(Murali Krishnan, Srikanth, Kondal Rao) roamed around Putten and it was a great experience and I wish to share those with you all. Saturday morning, around 10AM Murali came to my room and told me that we can go to Amsterdam now and roam there till night. But I wish to roam in Putten, so I told him that we can go to Putten Central, can have lunch over there and can roam till evening and then can come back to the castle.

But he was too enthusiastic to roam in Amsterdam(one of the famous city in the world for prostitution), I asked him directly Can I know for what you really need in Amsterdam? He smiled at me and he told me that its not for that brother, but we can buy some chocolates in Amsterdam. I told him that we can do the same in Putten, but still he wanted to go Amsterdam, then he started search for another company. Initially, Kondal Rao told okay to Murali for coming to Amsterdam.

After sometime even Kondal Rao also started telling to Murali that better we can go to Putten Central today and can go to Amsterdam next week. Murali, didn't have any company so finally he too accepted to come along with us to Putten Central. When we three were about to leave the castle, Srikanth told us that he also like to join with us. You maybe thinking why Velshankar was not coming with us? Velshankar told us that he has some personal work so he was not joining us.

We four of us started to Putten in bicycle. Murali and I shared one bicycle, Srikanth and Kondal Rao shared another bicycle and we started our bicycle trip to Putten Central around 11AM. In the above image you can see, how to reach Putten Central from our castle and the ride was around five kilometers. We reached the Putten Central around 12PM and we all decided to shop for a while and then can have lunch in the near by restaurant.
