Android Mobile Application

Main intention of the project is to show the capabilities of developing the application which can run in Offline. It developed for our VG sales team. We have taken the theme for the mobile POC is Camping process. In European countries, people have the habit of spending time on Camping. Camping service business is a huge market there. One of our customers is taking the survey about the camping service providers, based on that they are giving rating.

In this situation customer facing the issues because of inadequate network in the camping site

1.  Data entry work
2. Time delay (Time taken form filled feedback form to data entered in system)
3. High operating cost
4. Acknowledgement
5. Manual Approval

Our mobile application is resolving all our customer issues. In mobile application, user can take the survey in offline. It will store data in SQLITE data base which is internally provided by the Android platform. Once the network found user can synchronize the data on single button click. All the data exported to CPF environment, approvers get the task for each record. Once he approved they will get the statics for rating.

Here a few application screen shots

Blog after long time

After a long time I am writing this blog. Last one month I have worked on many projects which include Philips Certify, ACSI Android Mobile POC and Cordys internal apps. Apart from the CPF projects this is the first opportunity for me to work in Java and Android combination. I learnt bit in that platform. I planned to work on this in my own time. Philips Certify application testing is done by our NL team. We have implemented all the comments given by them. Android mobile application development is quite interesting. User manual is reader friendly. Everyone can develop simple program easily and run it through android mobile simulator. If we need any simple application for our own use means we can develop through Android SDK.

Srithar

Update on Pricing App - Jun 28

Hi All,

All the enhancements are implemented and tested by Velshankar and Hendrik. Yesterday, Marc has suggested some changes in the iReports, but not clear of those changes hope Hendrik will get back on those changes today. Apart from this on Thursday, there was a demo to Getronics users of Pricing App. I hope they will like the application instead of their old way of entering data in excel sheets.
